A pet cadaver bag built for the clinic

Medgear describes these as veterinarian-designed cadaver bags. All four sizes share the same material and finish: chlorine-free, medical-grade LDPE at 10 mil, in blue, with leak-proof construction and recyclable material. Blue is visibly different from the white of most of Medgear’s human bags if both share a cold room.

    Why chlorine-free matters for cremation

Bags made with PVC release chlorinated by-products when burned. Medgear’s veterinary bags are chlorine-free LDPE and are listed as cremation safe, so the pet can go to the crematorium in the bag rather than being transferred out of it. That means less handling for your staff, and the pet stays covered from the treatment room to the pickup. See the cremation-safe, chlorine-free bag details for the material story.

    Which size do I need?

    • Cats, rabbits, puppies and small dogs: Small (under 20 lb).
    • Beagle- and Corgi-sized dogs and large cats: Medium (22–64 lb).
    • Labrador- and German Shepherd-sized dogs: Large (66–110 lb).
    • Great Danes, giant breeds, large livestock and exotic animals: Extra Large (over 110 lb).
    • Larger than 40 x 58 in, such as an adult horse: ask about custom sizing.

    A reorder template for clinics

Medgear’s existing clinic starter pack is a good first order: 25 Small, 25 Medium, 10 Large and 5 Extra Large. Adjust it to your caseload, and enter the quantities per size on the quote form. Most clinics use Small and Medium most often, so reorder those first.

    Frequently asked questions

Can a veterinary body bag go into the cremator with the pet?

Medgear lists all four veterinary sizes as cremation safe and made from chlorine-free LDPE, with no PVC. Confirm with your crematorium that it accepts bagged remains, since each operator sets its own intake rules.

What size bag do I need for a 70 lb dog?

The Large bag (31 x 46 in) is listed for 66 to 110 lb (30 to 50 kg). Dogs close to a size boundary are easier to bag in the larger size, so many clinics stock one size up.

What thickness are the veterinary bags?

All four sizes are 10 mil chlorine-free medical-grade LDPE, in blue, with leak-proof construction.

Can I order several sizes on one quote?

Yes. List the quantity for each size on your quote request. Medgear also offers volume pricing and custom sizing; mention your usual monthly usage.
