Cadaver bag, body bag or human remains pouch?

They are the same product under different names. “Body bag” is the common term in funeral service, “cadaver bag” is used in hospitals and by coroner services, and “human remains pouch” appears in emergency-management and public-health documents. Medgear makes one range to cover all three.

    Which one do I need?

    • Everyday adult use: the Standard Body Bag (38 x 94 in, up to 300 lb), or the Standard Body Bag with Handles (38 x 98 in, 6 handles, up to 350 lb) where two-person lifts and stairs are routine.
    • Heavier or broader decedents: the Bariatric Body Bag, 56 x 104 in, 500+ lb.
    • Autopsy, examination or discretion: the black L-Shape Body Bag, whose L-shaped zipper opens from the top and the side.
    • Infectious disease: the Pandemic Body Bag, 10 mil heavy-duty enhanced barrier with a sealed straight zip.
    • Children and infants: Teen (32 x 94 in), Youth (32 x 70 in), Child (25 x 50 in), Infant (16 x 25 in) and Fetus (12 x 16 in), all 8 mil.

Not sure? The body bag selection guide walks through setting, size, zipper and handles, and the size chart compares every dimension.

    Material and thickness

All of these bags are medical-grade LDPE (low-density polyethylene) and leak-proof. Thickness is not uniform across the range: the standard, bariatric and pandemic bags are 10 mil, and the teen, youth, child, infant, fetal and L-shape bags are 8 mil. Check the Thickness column above rather than assuming one figure for every size.

    Samples, bulk and custom sizing

Samples and custom sizing are available on request. For a recurring order, tell Medgear which sizes you use and roughly how many per month, and quote the SKU shown on each product page so the right bag ships.
